The Belarusian Embassy in London appeared to be calm on Monday, following an alleged attack on diplomats that occurred on Sunday.

Minsk said in a statement that a diplomat was injured by protesters and suffered “sustained serious injuries requiring urgent medical assistance,” leading to a broken nose, a broken tooth, and signs of concussion.

The government of Belarus announced that it summoned a British envoy in Minsk.

The London Metropolitan Police force said officers attended a reported disturbance outside the embassy on Sunday night, where a member of had a facial injury that he said was the result of the assault.

One person has been arrested, according to the police, and an investigation has been opened.
