UK: Driver pulls knife, almost gets run over in London ‘petrol row’

A man was seen threatening a driver with what appears to be a knife outside of a petrol station in Welling, South East London, Tuesday, during the ongoing petrol shortage in the UK.

As the confrontation began, the car could be seen ramming into the man, who is pushed onto the bonnet of the vehicle, before starting again to harass the driver.

The police were called to ‘reports of a disturbance involving two motorists,’ but no injuries were reported and no suspects were identified as the drivers had already left when officers arrived.

A lack of lorry drivers forced the oil company BP to close several of its locations across the United Kingdom, prompting many to stock up on fuel.

On Saturday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans for a temporary visa scheme to ease entry by foreign lorry drivers into the UK, set to run until Christmas of this year.
