Hundreds of protesters gathered in Whitehall, London, to demonstrate against rising energy bills and the higher cost of living, on Saturday.

The protesters were seen holding banners reading slogans such as “cut energy bills” and “cut war not welfare”.
“It is a massive concern (that wages haven’t risen) and pretty much my whole lifetime, the average wage has been the same, and everything else, the cost of everything else is rising so something doesn’t make sense,” commented one protester.

Last week, OFGEM (The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) announced a 54 percent rise in the price energy providers can charge customers coming into effect in April.
Inflation in the UK has also reached its highest levels since 1992, jumping to 5.4% last December.
