Military parades in honor of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine were held in Kiev and Odessa on Tuesday.

Military personnel of Ukraine, Estonia, Slovakia, Canada, and USA could be seen marching along Khreshchatyk street, followed by columns of ground and air military vehicles to celebrate Ukraine’s 30th anniversary of independence in Kiev on Tueday.

According to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, more than 5,000 servicemen from 14 countries, 400 units of weapons and equipment, as well as 100 aircraft, including representatives of NATO, were involved in the festive procession.

In addition, a parade of military vessels took place in Odessa near Lanzheron Beach. Hundreds of spectators watched the columns of ships from Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, and Georgia, as well as military aviation and the performance of parachutists.

During the parade in Kiev, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced the establishment of a new holiday, the Day of Ukrainian Nationhood. The Day of the Сhristening of Kievan Rus, July 28, was chosen as the date of the event.
