The permanent representatives of Estonia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia, Niger, and Vietnam to the United Nations took part in a ceremony lowering their flags as outgoing non-permanent members of the Security Council, concluding their two year term, on Friday, at UN headquarter in New York City.
The five countries will be replaced by Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, and the United Arab Emirates for the next two years.
The 15 country body also includes India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, and Norway, whose terms end at the end of 2022, while the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, China and France are permanent members.
