Uruguay: Palmeiras and Flamengo players train in Montevideo ahead of Copa Libertadores final

Sao Paulo’s Palmeiras and Rio de Janeiro’s Flamengo teams trained at Montevideo’s Estadio Centenario on Friday, ahead of their match in the final of the 2021 Copa Libertadores.

Ronielson da Silva Barbosa, Felipe Melo, Everton Ribeiro, amongst others, could be seen preparing on the pitch.

“There is no favoritism in a game like this. These are two giant teams; they are two teams with great players, so, anything can happen”, said Palmeiras midfielder Felipe Melo, speaking at a press conference.

“Our greatest adversary tomorrow is within each one of us. The only thing I tell my players is that each one has to be faithful to his game, and that they play collectively, I can only tell them that. And I’m certain that if that happens, in the end, our purpose will be fulfilled,” added coach Adel Ferreira.

Flemengo star Ribeiro expressed confidence regarding the upcoming match, saying, “We went through ups and downs during the season, but we came with very high confidence, knowing what to do on the field, knowing our teammates more and more.”

Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo are set to clash in the final of 2021 Copa Libertadores, a tournament among South-American football clubs, on Saturday 27.
