Voters in Arlington, Virginia, took to the polls on Tuesday in the first major gubernatorial election of the Biden administration.
Republican candidate Greg Youngkin and Democrat Terry McAuliffe are taking part in the race for the role of governor.
The outcome of the election could be an indicator of the political landscape in the 2022 mid-term elections.

SOT, Tyson Whitney, Virginia voter: “I think this election is extremely important because it is going to decide how the midterms are going to shape out. This is a very important political topic for people interested in what the 2022 elections are going to look like. The mid-term elections for congress.”

SOT, Jeff Jacobs, Virginia voter: “This could be an election where there is such an interest and push back that enough people are going to vote that it’s going to be hard to make the vote meaningless. But there are a lot of people that have serious problems with whether or not their vote matters anymore.”
