Heather Morgan and her husband Ilya ‘Dutch’ Lichtenstein’s defence team led by lawyer Samson Enzer were seen arriving in court in Washington DC on Monday ahead of the couple’s bail hearing.
The couple is facing charges for allegedly trying to launder 3.6 billion US dollars in crypto-currency. The prosecution linked the couple to the hack of Bitfinex in 2016.
After a three-hour-long hearing, Chief US District Judge Beryl A. Howell of Washington overturned the ruling by the New York judge who had granted bail to both, denying bail for Ilya Lichtenstein while allowing his wife to be released on bail while waiting for the trial.
