USA: Blue Origin launches first tourist space flight, Bezos and crew land successfully

A spacecraft took former CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark and three other crew members on a space flight on Tuesday.

It took off from a launch pad at Van Horn, Texas, and entered the outer space at the distance of approximately 107 km.

The journey which lasted for 11 minutes, set a number of records for Bezos’ Blue Origin, including the oldest and youngest people to join a space flight.

82-year-old female aviation pioneer Wally Funk was invited as a guest while 18-year-old student from the Netherlands Oliver Daemen became the company’s first official space tourist.
