USA: Boston rally turns violent as anti-vaxxers, counter-protesters clash

Counter-protesters clashed with demonstrators from the ‘Super Happy Fun America’ right-wing group, during a protest against vaccination mandates in Boston on Sunday.
The counter-protesters, mostly members of the anti-fascist movements, marched towards the rally at Boston Common as the riot police intervened to separate the two groups.
Two people were arrested, according to the police.

SOT, Elizabeth, Counter-protester: “Like I said, I feel that it is important to not uplift hate. Violence is regrettable, I’m not in favour of it, but I am absolutely not in favour of white supremacist or hate or polices that cause harm and have killed a lot of people in our country.”

SOT, Jesse, Attendee of Super Happy Fun America protest: “The people losing their jobs over these vaccine mandates. That’s all we came out here to do was support about it, talk about being cordial, how things have to get back to both sides agreeing to disagree and not this madness where they are pepper spraying other Americans, like this is insanity.”
