USA: Mike Pompeo addresses 'We Are Israel' gathering in El Cajon amidst protest rally

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo addressed a gathering entitled ‘We are Israel’ in El Cajon on Sunday. The audience brought with them flags and banners expressing support for Israel. They held prayers and heard speeches against antisemitism. “You can all see it, antisemitism is on the rise and it’s up to us to speak against it everywhere and always. I believe strongly in our support of Israel because of this nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage,” Pompeo said. Meantime pro-Palestinian activists held a rally nearby where placards were exhibited expressing opposition to Pompeo’s attendance at the pro-Israel event. Protesters held Palestinian flags and signs with slogans such as ‘No Pompeo! No Zionism!’
