Pro-life and pro-choice rallies gathered outside the United States Supreme Court in Washington DC, on Wednesday morning as the highest court in the country was set to hear arguments challenging a Mississippi law banning abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Protesters from both sides were seen holding signs and banners, some reading ‘abortion is murder’ and others ‘abortion is healthcare’ as they chanted slogans.

Last month, both sides held protests in DC, sparked by a restrictive Texas abortion law signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, which banned the procedure as early as six weeks into pregnancy and encouraged citizens to prosecute people who violated the ban. The Supreme Court has voted against blocking enforcement of the law ‘pending oral arguments.’
