USA: Texas pro-choice group rallies at Supreme Court in DC

A group of protesters from Texas gathered Friday outside the Supreme Court in Washington, DC to rally for abortion rights.

Activists from the Texas Trust Respect Access Coalition gathered for an impromptu event ahead of the main pro-choice march that is set to take place in the US capital on Saturday.

The speakers shared their personal stories and rallied against new laws restricting access to abortions in Texas. Maleeha Aziz, who yesterday was testifying at the House Oversight Committee debate on Texas abortion law, also addressed the crowd.

New abortion regulations in the state of Texas went into effect earlier in September, restricting termination of pregnancy after six weeks’ gestation.
