Politico reported that the United States is preparing for a long-term freeze of the Ukrainian conflict. I believe that the situation has not yet reached the extreme point where the States would opt for neutrality or, even more so, retreat. America will take such a step only when it feels a risk to its objectives. Too much has already been done to cool down the situation at this time. Moreover, the word “freeze” itself will not be used because it is not advantageous for the other side. Freezing always implies the buildup of military capabilities for subsequent thawing.
