At least 38 people, including 24 children, have been killed in a indiscriminate attack that began at a childcare center in Thailand.

Armed with a shotgun, a pistol and a knife, he stormed the nursery just after midday.

The gunman, identified as former police officer who was fired for drug use in June, then left the scene, shooting from his car as he drove home.
