Wobbly cat brings nothing but joy to human family (Healthy cat with cerebellar hypoplasia)

We adopted Phin after finding him on the Cats of Instagram page. We reached out to his foster mom because I study the cerebellum. They didn’t have any good local adopters so I asked if I could fly out to adopt and we were approved. So we brought him home. He had a little bit of health issues with constipation right after we got him. We were fortunately able to resolve that with medication. We thought that he was going to need a surgery, but fortunately he didn’t. So now, he just has the cerebellar hypoplasia. He is an otherwise healthy cat. 

Basically, his cerebellum is just underdeveloped, that is the movement, coordination area of the brain but he’s otherwise happy and healthy. He has adapted well to living in our home.  We’ve had to make a few minor modifications, keep a lot of soft rugs down and stuff like that. Nowadays, Phin has turned into a very confident cat.  He loves begging for food all the time. He loves playing with our other animals in the house, another cat named Tyrion and a dog named Holly. He’s a very emotionally attached cat. He loves cuddling with us. He sleeps between us every single night. Despite his disorder, he’s a very happy, well-rounded cat with a great life.
