Greetings, everyone. So Killing Floor 2 finally came out officially last month (November) and I thought it was about time I revisit the game and see how it runs on my new GTX 1070, since I already tested it some months ago on my GTX 770 and it was a pretty decent game already on early Access. Before getting into additional details, here’re my PC specs: -CPU: i5 [email protected] GHz with Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. -Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger (Z97). -GPU: Inno3D Twin X2 GTX 1070 (stock) and latest WHQL driver (376.19). -RAM: 16 GB DDR3@1866, 9-10-9-28. -Storage: Kingston SSDNow 300, 240 GB where both game and O.S. are installed. -O.S: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit with latest updates. -Running at 1080p-144Hz native (no G-Sync), other resolutions tested using DSR. As we can see in the video, the game runs pretty good at 1080p with everything maxxed, even the Flex physics stuff powered by Nvidia PhysX; that setting is very, very demanding when using both Gibs and Fluids (for the blood and all that) so if you’re having performance issues or want to dramatically improve your frame rate…the first thing to disable is that Flex stuff, for sure, if you don’t mind the not so “realistic” gibbering with that setting turned off, it still looks okay but not amazingly extra gore’ish, of course. On my testing I found that to be able to run 1440p at frame rates substantially higher than 60, High settings is where is at, a good compromise between FPS and quality for those running high refresh 1440p monitors. If you don’t mind staying closer to 60 FPS at 1440p, you can enable full Flex physics or running everything at Ultra as well, it’s your choice, more quality and double digit FPS, or a bit less quality and triple digit frame rates for smoother, high refresh, gameplay…choice is good, anyway. To be able to run this game at 4K on the 1070 and still get at least 60 FPS, we need to tune down real time Reflections, Shadows a bit too, and of course disable Flex physics. Even then, some settings like Model Detail or general map details might need some tuning down as well, feel free to play with the settings of you’re running a 4K screen until you’re happy with the results. Overall, I know this game is meant to be played on full 6 player matches, so I didn’t test that in the video, but I haven’t noticed too many issues on the games I’ve played online already recently, so if your system has issues in multiplayer, keep tuning down things like shadows, or model detail, and don’t use any Flex physics for maximum frame rate smoothness.
