The clip starts with a views of the Sha Tin valley in Hong Kong's New Territories, which in 1966 was totally undeveloped. Farmers can be seen ploughing rice paddies and tending vegetable plots. The next view is of a Kowloon-Canton Railway ( British Section) passenger train pulling into Sha Tin station. The G.M diesel heading the train is No.54 named R. Baker. This locomotive, built in Australia in 1957, has now been sold and shipped back to Australia and is still in use. (renumbered as TL 154). Next are track-side views of rice paddies and farms, typical of the New Terrotories in the 1960's. taken from a moving train. The final clip is of a freight train, headed by diesel No.57, on the tracks between Tai Po and Fan Ling. (there is no sound track to this video). Photographed by Chinarail1 using "Super-8" cine camera film.
