More Severin Eisenberger, playing the great Larghetto with incisive declamation, filled with life and passion. The Cincinnatti Conservatory Orchestra is directed by Alexander von Kreisler. Eisenberger has chosen to play with a reorchestration. (Burmeister? Perhaps an astute YT-er can trace the orchestrator.) Recorded May 14, 1938. From Allan Evans' new 4-CD Arbiter set "Masters of Chopin: Friedman, Tiegerman, Eisenberger", three Leschetizky students cut from the same Polish cloth, though each is of course unique. A 4-CD set with wonderful new transfers, including an extra CD - rom with text from Friedman's Chopin Etude edition (includes great musical observations/advice and exercises a la Cortot for all 27 etudes), photos, reminiscences of students, etc. The CD features a never before transferred Friedman A flat Polonaise, and a previously unpublished Campanella.
