Thousands of people were filmed being stranded outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul in Monday following the Taliban takeover.

Gunshots may be heard apparently fired in the air by the security forces trying to control the situation.

The airport witnessed chaotic scenes on Sunday after the group took over the capital with many Afghans and foreign nationals rushing to leave the country.
