Anti-COVID-vaxxers held a protest in Vienna on Thursday as parliament prepares for vote on mandatory vaccination. If approved, Austria would become the first EU country to impose such a mandate.

SOT, Protester (German): “I think you should keep in mind that everyone is there for a different reason. I think it’s good that they’re doing this and getting as many opinions as possible so that it gets out to the public. Everyone gets vaccinated for a different reason. Or eats breakfast or no breakfast for a different reason. Everyone is individual, right?”

SOT, Protester (German): “I’m here because I’m standing up, because a change is allowed to be there. A lot can change, we can find our way back to our humanity and not chase after the money, pharmaceutical companies or whomever.”

SOT, Protester (German): “Nobody should be discriminated against here. Neither because of religion, skin color nor anything else. But the vaccination status, which none of us had a year ago, now decides life? Disgusting! It is enough!”

SOT, Protester (German): “This is my duty as an Austrians. It is my duty as an Austrian. I was in the army and I released from the army as a soldier and back then I said when I was sworn in that I would protect Austria and that still applies to me today, that’s why I’m there.”

SOT, Protester (German): “The government is already talking about a fourth partial vaccination, although we know that people who have three vaccinations or boosters still have omicron.”

SOT, Protester (German): “That’s not how you treat people, that’s not how you treat people. Three red lines have been crossed. One: children, second: wanting to lock up unvaccinated, healthy people. Third: compulsory vaccination. Thank you.”
