Argentina: Locals flock to Buenos Aires beaches as heatwave continues

After days of power cuts in Buenos Aires, thousands of people continue to flock to the beach trying to cool off amid a heatwave reaching temperatures as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104 F) on Friday.

“I can’t stand the heat, at least in my house it’s very strong and with the power cut off we come here to take a breath,” shared Buenos Aires local suffering from power cuts Josefina.

As the power continues to fail, locals can be seen trying to cool off on the beaches and playing in the water playgrounds.

Around 700,000 people were affected by the power cuts, and the extreme weather will continue for the next week.
