Australia: Protesters return to Melbourne streets to decry COVID vaccine mandates

Once again, hundreds of anti-COVID vaccine mandate protesters took to the streets of Melbourne on Sunday to accuse their government and Prime Minister Daniel Andrews of curtailing their freedoms.

The demonstrators, marching under the banner of ‘Reclaim the Line’, could be seen holding up placards and calling on their government to withdraw a vaccine mandate that requires Victoria residents to have received two doses of approved COVID-19 vaccines to access their workplace and other venues.

The protests follow a series of mandates that Prime Minister Andrew’s introduced to replace the current state of emergency.

Victoria has vaccinated more than 90 percent of its population over the age of 16 years, making it one of the most vaccinated populations in the world.
