Brazil: Stuck driver gets help on Caieiras road as deadly floods hit Sao Paulo

A driver was seen being helped to get out of his vehicle after his car got stuck on a flooded road in Caieiras, Sunday.
Several vehicles came to rescue, with the man seen getting out of the towed vehicle and water pouring out of the car.
According to local media, at least 18 people died following floods and landslides caused by torrential rains in the Sao Paulo metropolitan region and more than 500 families had to be evacuated.

SOT, Marco, Local resident (Portuguese): “He tried to move from where people said he could not go through, but continued with his truck, when he arrived where we are the truck was with water till the door, he kept going and look now is floating, they are trying to bring him and the truck back.”

SOT, Alexandre Frota, Federal congress politician (Portuguese): “There is a voluntary work that we do every time there are heavy rains, and we come out with a team to help. We know there are many landslides, many people dealing with difficulties, and so was the case here.”
