Brazil: Clean-up efforts continue in Minas Gerais following major floods

Several residents of the Pantanal neighbourhood of Santa Luzia in Minas Gerais were seen cleaning up their homes and streets on Wednesday.
During the weekend, the Das Velhas river flooded the town with reportedly over two metres of water.
Public services could be seen removing the mud from the streets, as residents and shop owners were cleaning their furniture and assessing the damage.

SOT, Resident (Portuguese): “The water came straight. From the first house to the last, capped up to the roof.”

SOT, Resident (Portuguese): “It was a lot of water. They lost everything. This margin here is all gone.”
