Football fans broke into jubilation at a watch party in Yaounde on Monday as Cameroon beat Comoros to advance to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The celebrations came as elsewhere in Yaounde, a deadly stampede at Olembe Stadium, where 50,000 attempted to enter ahead of the game between Cameroon and Comoros killed at least eight and injured dozens.
