Canada: Smoke billows from Abbotsford vehicle lot as evacuations continue

Smoke was seen billowing from a vehicle holding lot in Abbotsford, British Columbia on Tuesday, as evacuation efforts continued following heavy flooding.
Flames had erupted at the lot at Sumas Mountain Road and North Parallel Road, with black smoke filling the sky above.
According to local police, the blaze was extinguished shortly after 14:00 local time (22:00 GMT).
The area suffered flash-flooding after the city experienced its wettest day on record on Sunday, with 4 inches of rain reportedly falling in the space of 24 hours.
On Tuesday, local authorities urged 1,100 homes in the Sumas Prairie region to evacuate due to the rainfall, with a state of emergency being declared in the province on Wednesday.
So far one person has been confirmed dead due to a landslide, whilst three more remain missing.
