Large smoke plumes caused by a fire can be seen from a Canadian residential suburb amid an ongoing state of emergency due to heavy flooding in the city of Abbotsford in British Columbia on Wednesday.

The fire coming from a vehicle storage facility in the area of Sumas Mountain Road and North Parallel Road followed several days of heavy rain and catastrophic flooding in the area.

As of Tuesday morning, an evacuation order for the entire Sumas Prairie area up to the Chilliwack border has forced thousands of residents to leave the area.
