Russia: Drone footage shows heavy flooding in Novorossiysk

Torrential rain caused widespread flooding in Novorossiysk in southern Russia over the course of the weekend, as seen from drone footage shot on Monday.

Novorossiysk mayor Igor Dyachenko declared a state of emergency in the city after at least 83 buildings were flooded and the water also damaged road structures, leaving several vehicles abandoned.

Russia’s national weather service Rosgidromet estimated the southern Krasnodar region saw up to 140 mm of rain during the downpour, more than four times the monthly average.
