Gabriel Boric, Chile’s President-elect met with current President Sebastian Pinera at the La Moneda Palace in Santiago on Monday.
Boric held a press conference after where he promised ‘truth, justice’ and ‘repair’
“One of our priorities in the government is going to be that there is truth, justice, repair and certainly no repetition,” the president-elect said.
Pinera congratulated Chile’s soon to be youngest ever president at just 35-years old. “In the first place we have reiterated our congratulations for his victory yesterday, which was democratic and also we have wished him the greatest success in his future government,” Pinera said.
Boric is due to be sworn in as president of Chile on March 11. He beat his right-wing rival Jose Antonio Kast in a runoff election on Sunday.
