Clashes broke out between police and protesters over an increase in bus fares, as seen in Usme on Thursday.
Police officers rode motorbikes and chased demonstrators down alleyways, with several participants throwing rocks and burning objects at the armed security forces.
Water cannons were also employed in an attempt to control the protesters.
Protests had been ongoing since Wednesday night, with participants expressing anger at a price increase for the TransMilenio (a local bus service) fare of 150 pesos (0.03 euros, 0.04 dollars), as well as towards the government.
