‘COVID-19 Vaccine: Millions of Doses Administered Across EU as Bloc Distributes Drug’

The first of millions of COVID-19 vaccinations have been given out in the European Union as the bloc begins rollout of its vaccination scheme.

While countries have been allowed to decide who they administer the Pfizer/BioNTech jab to first, the bloc ensured that the first doses were sent to areas worst-affected like Italy, which has seen 71,000 deaths.

Some countries, like France, have focussed their efforts on the elderly, others, like Italy, are vaccinating medical workers first. In the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš was the first to receive the jab.
