Strong winds and furious rains have hit Madagascar due to Cyclone Batsirai.

After passing Mauritius, Batsirai was just 150 miles away from Madagascar on Saturday morning.

The cyclone picked up speed, and landslides and flooding hit the island sooner than expected.

Coastal areas have been preparing for the storm, and around 150,000 people are likely to be displaced.
