Special needs dog rescue story

I’ve been heavily involved in the dog rescue world for about 10 years. One family got my number from somebody else and they told me that they had an outdoor dog that had given birth to a very strange looking puppy. They asked me if I could take him and see what I could do to help him. And I said, absolutely. I took him in. I’d never seen a dog like him before. He had really small eyes, a very big muzzle with large teeth. And he had ears that curl back. I intended to figure out what was going on with him, make sure he wasn’t in pain and living a good life. And then, I was going to try to find him a forever home and it ended up that he never left. I just fell in love. We aren’t sure what causes his appearance. All of his differences do appear to be physical. He doesn’t have any mental delays. 

What I love most about Chupey is that he’s always happy.  He has an insane amount of energy. He’s an amazing advocate for special needs dogs and dogs that look a little bit different in general.
