Members of the US electoral college have affirmed Joe Biden’s presidential election victory. The Democrat won the presidential race with 306 electoral college votes compared to Donald Trump’s 232.

The process has taken on added significance because of the president’s refusal to concede.

Donald Trump continues to allege that voter fraud and corruption cost him a second term in the White House. But almost 60 legal cases brought by the Trump team to overturn the results have lost in court.

Meanwhile Attorney General William Barr, a staunch Trump ally, resigned on Monday. To Trump’s fury, Barr recently said that the Justice Department had seen no evidence of widespread election fraud.
