Streets were blocked by heavy security force presence in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem on Wednesday after a woman was stabbed and injured as she was walking with her children near a school.

A teenage Palestinian girl has been apprehended on suspicion of carrying out the attack against the 26-year-old Israeli woman.

The Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood has become a strong point of contention as Israeli and Palestinian locals have contested the ownership of properties in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood.
