France: Fans share excitement ahead of Messi debut for PSG at Reims

Football fans flocked down to the home ground of the Stade de Reims football club in Reims on Sunday to see the much awaited debut of football legend Lionel Messi for Paris Saint-Germain.
Fans speculated on the outcome of the much awaited match after Messi’s chapter with FC Barcelona, his only prior professional league team for which he first signed for with at the young age of 13 in the year 2000.
Lionel Messi arrived at PSG after signing a contract worth around €35 million ($41 million) net per year, with an option to extend.
Messi left Barcelona after “financial and structural obstacles” thwarted his contract renewal negotiations.
PSG went on to win the match against Reims, with a 2-0 result and both goals scored by Kylian Mbappe. Messi made his debut as a substitute in the second half of the match.
