France: Messi greets PSG fans outside Parc des Princes stadium in Paris

Argentine football star Lionel Messi greeted Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans outside the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris on Wednesday after signing a two-year contract to join the club.
Long lines also formed outside the football club’s official store in the capital as supporters gathered to buy Messi’s newly-made jerseys.
Messi’s departure from FC Barcelona was announced by the club last Thursday. The Catalan side said the parties could not reach an agreement due to ‘financial and structural obstacles.’ On Sunday, speaking to the FC Barcelona board and his teammates, tearful Messi confirmed his departure after a 21-year stay with the club.
The PSG welcomed him with a tweet in which the club referred to him as a “new diamond in Paris.”
