France: Protesters clash with police as Lille demo against Eric Zemmour turns chaotic

Protesters clashed with police in Lille on Saturday, as hundreds gathered to demonstrate against a campaign rally of far-right presidential candidate Eric Zemmour.

Protesters can be seen firing fireworks at police who responded with tear gas. The protest has been called for by anti-racism activists and was promoted by Mayor of Lille Martine Aubry.

A number of previous events organised by Zemmour have resulted in violence between his supporters and opponents.
