France: Three arrested after 10 mln armed Bulgari heist in Paris

Two suspects have been arrested by police following a raid on a Bulgari shop, during which the armed robbers reportedly attempted to steal €10 million ($12 million) worth of jewellery, in Paris on Tuesday.

Police were seen surrounding the recently-revamped boutique, which is located on Place Vendome, and closing it off to the public with red and white tape.

According to reports, a group of sharply-dressed individuals entered the store with guns around midday, before fleeing the scene in a car with the stolen goods, as a number of accomplices followed on scooters.

Police fired shots at the getaway vehicle outside the nearby Les Halles shopping mall, forcing the robbers to flee on foot, whereafter two of them were quickly captured.

The search is still underway for the remaining suspects. It is unclear if the stolen goods have been recovered.
