Georgia: One dead, eight injured after mine explosion in Tkibuli

At least one person died and eight others were hospitalised after an explosion at the Tkibuli mine in central Georgia on Monday.
Footage shows ambulance workers preparing victims for transportation from the first-aid post and leaving for Tbilisi, where the injured were brought for treatment.
Five of the injured have undergone surgery and are in stable condition, according to the Khechinashvili University Hospital. Three other patients are in intensive care, with one of them having suffered burns to 60 percent of his body, the hospital added.
The explosion is believed to have been caused due to a methane leak. The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has started an investigation into the accident.
