Germany: Antifa protest in Leipzig following AfD gains in Saxony

Hundreds of people rallied in Leipzig against the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as it won the largest share of the vote in Saxony as well as in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, getting additional constituency seats, Monday.
More than 500 protesters, mobilised by the Antifa group, gathered at Johanplatz where they held a sit-in demonstration and later marched through the city streets escorted by a large police contingent.
Demonstrators demanded a withdrawal of Leipzig city from the Saxony region, where the AfD party obtained a decisive victory and pledged to continue opposing the right-wing politicians.
