Germany: COVID vaccination sceptics hold candlelight vigil in Munich

Hundreds of COVID-19 vaccination sceptics held a candlelit vigil to honour those who have lost their lives to the virus, as seen in Munich on Monday.

Participants were seen holding candles around Marienplatz, with local police cordoning off the surrounding area.

Several officers appeared to arrest one of the attendees.

The gathering follows a similar set of vigils held in Austria in recent weeks, with the most recent one having been attended by anti-vaccine protesters.

According to the World Health Organisation, 110,433 have died of COVID-19 in Germany since the start of the pandemic.
