The heaviest pumpkin of the Old Continent was weighed in and selected during a European Championship in Ludwigsburg on Sunday.
Mehdi Daho, market gardener from Le Mans set a new French record for the heaviest giant pumpkin at 983,5 kilograms (2168,2 lbs) coming in second to Belgian Mario Van Geel from Antwerp who weighed in at 1106,5 kilograms (2439,4 lbs), beating his previous record from 2019.
Italian farmer Stefano Cutrupi from Toscany ultimately won first place at 1,226 kilograms (2702,86 lbs) having previously set a new world record last month.
The Kurbisausstellung Ludwigsburg is the largest pumpkin festival in the world, held annually on the grounds of the Blooming Baroque gardens.
