CDU candidate for chancellor Armin Lachet has presented his so-called immediate action programme in Berlin on Monday, outlining the actions a government led by him will take in the first 100 days if he wins the election.
The focus of the six-step programme is on family, security, climate protection and the economy.
In an attempt to create a trend reversal in the polls ahead of the election, the party promised a reduction of bureaucracy for companies and an improvement in video surveillance in public places, especially in railway stations.
Laschet also promised relief for workers with small and medium incomes as well as families.
Germany’s general election takes place on September 26, with Laschet currently behind SPD’s Olaf Scholz in the polls.
