Police officers detained dozens of migrants along the German-Polish border in Guben on Sunday after a far-right party called for self-proclaimed border patrols in this area.
After the police deployment against right-wing extremists on the German-Polish border, police tracked down about a dozen border crossers at different locations and detained them for further investigation. Those detained were seen sitting partly barefoot on the ground greeting journalists with victory gestures.
The call for the so-called border march was reportedly attributed to the party ‘Der Dritte Weg’ (German: The third way). The party which was founded in 2013 allegedly supports actions against migrants at the border. Apart from the apprehended migrants, police had also tracked down about 50 suspects presumed to belong to the far-right the night before.
