Thousands protested against COVID-19 measures and mandatory vaccinations in Rostock on Monday evening.

Demonstrators gathered across the city, with many failing to abide by mask-wearing and social distancing regulations.

Local police were also seen monitoring the march.

According to police estimates, around 15,000 attended the rally.

The newly-elected German government has recently announced plans to implement a nationwide COVID-19 vaccination mandate, which includes obligatory vaccines for health workers from March onwards.
