Thousands marched against COVID-19 restrictions implemented to fight the spread of the virus, in Hamburg on Saturday, whilst dozens of left-wing activists staged a counter-protest.

Demonstrators marched around the city’s Binnenalster lake holding signs and banners, with police officers escorting the rally.

According to local police around 8000 participated in the demonstration against COVID-19 restrictions and mandatory vaccinations. Similar protests were held in several other cities on Saturday.
