Greece: Fire breaks out along motorway north of Athens

Firefighters could be seen near Mount Parnitha on Tuesday attempting to extinguish a wildfire that broke out along the motorway connecting Athens with northern parts of Greece.

Local authorities said five helicopters, four water bombers, 35 fire trucks and 104 firemen were deployed to combat the blaze.

Meteorologists have warned about a severe heatwave in Greece this week with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius.
