Pope Francis met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Vatican on Friday.

When the French President asked the Pope how things were going, Pope Francis replied, ‘Good, I’m still alive.’

This was their first meeting since an investigation found in October that French clerics had sexually abused more than 200,000 children over the past 70 years.

According to local news, Macron and Pope Francis will discuss France’s role in northern Africa and a possible visit by Pope Francis in 2022.

This meeting will also break a Vatican tradition as the French will be casting votes in April 2022, and the Pope usually does not meet with presidents during an election year.
